Garegin Arakel Yeghishe Ter-Harutyunyan was born in 1886 in Nakhichevan, died in 1955 in Vladimir region.
Garegin Nzhdeh is armenian military statesman, leader of the Republic of Mountainous Armenia-LERNAHAYASTAN.
On August 25, 1920, in the church of Kavart village in Kapan, the soldiers of Nzhdeh made a vow by the name of Davit Bek to be loyal to the freedom of their native country, to their commander Nzhdeh and to fight until the end.
In 1921, Nzhdeh left Zangezur after receiving a guarantee from the authorities, according to which Syunik would remain part of Armenia.
