The Saint Astvatsatsin Monastery of Bjni is located in the village of Bjni, Kotayk province of Armenia.
In 1031, Grigor Magistros Pahlavuni founded the monastery and built the church of Saint Astvatsatsin.
Saint Astsvatsatsin church is a domed hall. It is said, that many manuscripts were created in the monastery. The Saint Astvatsatsin monastery, which was also known as “Magister’s Seminary”, was the center of medieval armenian writing. The monastery gained great fame in the 12th century, during the reign of Armenian Catholicos Grigor G Pahlavuni, son of Grigor Magister.
